New Forum: MCN Approved Vendors

Our  "MCN Approved Vendors" section is the newest resource for all the members of MCN.  Each category lists the stores foremost in the business of creating quality custom minifig accessories.  Each stickied and locked topic has the most recent information for each store, including the website, email, product descriptions, and even some pros and cons.

If you do business with any of these stores and would like to post a review of the service and products then you may create a topic in the appropriate category (be sure to include the store name in the title of your topic) to let the rest of us know what your experience was like.  Remember that you must still follow the rules of the forum: if you have a gripe it is to be courteously described; if you liked their items you must post according to the Quality Content rule (No one word posts like "Cool!").

The criteria for these vendors to be listed on MCN is tough and stores are selected by the MODs and Administrators when they see one matching the high quality standards we customizers demand.

Some more info, in answer to some of the questions I've gotten, and posts that have been made.

1.  There will never be an ebay section, and no, you may not post your ebay auctions.

2.  Vendors are selected by site staff, don't ask to have your little brother's Bricklink store added, cause its not gonna happen.

3.  Posts in the vendors section MUST be about ONLY the approved vendors we have listed.  Do not post about other stores, the topic will be deleted.

4.  It's not a "WANTED" section, so don't post a list of stuff you want.  That too will be deleted.

New Forum: Publishing!

You asked for it and now we've made it!  Make sure that you read the description of what topics we'd like to see in the new forum so that all new posts are placed appropriately.

Second place was a tie between J Walker's Marvin the Martian and Captain Bulldog's Daffy Duck, with yeroc's Eva Unit 01 taking third place.
Honourable Mentions to -all- of our unplaced contestants. Trust me when I say that this was a close one and judging was no easy task. The MCN is proud of all of you and happy to have gotten such a wonderful turnout.

To the winner -- a PM with instructions for claiming your prize will be sent to you shortly. From that point you have one week to reply. If no reply is given, or if the 1st place winner is unwilling or unable to comply with the necessary information for claiming the prize -- the prize will be awarded to one of our second-place title holders.

Cartoon Craze: Entries

Contest : Cartoon Craze!

The Rules


1.) Contestants may submit up to two pictures of their entry (a front and side view, for example). Images must be no larger than 400 pixels by 600 pixels. Larger images will be disqualified. Entries linked to a folder containing more than two images, or images larger than 400x600 pixels, of the custom minifig will be subject to disqualification.

2.) For this contest, please refrain from submitting characters based on Star Wars, or cartoon adaptions of comic books.

3.) Entries must be brand new, never-before-seen customs. Any entry or decal that was published online prior to the start of the contest will be disqualified.

4.) Contestants may each enter only one (1) minifig for consideration. Please consider this choice carefully, as entries cannot be changed once they have been submitted for review.

5.) When submitting an entry, please include a short write-up giving the name of the character and what cartoon(s) the character was featured in. Please keep in mind that only cartoons made prior to 2000 are acceptable (the 20th century). Cartoon characters first featured in 2000 or later (21st century) are not eligible for consideration in this contest.

6.) Entries must be something the whole community can enjoy. For obvious reasons, avoid nudity, excessive gore, or other offensive content.

7.) Please use care in taking pictures of your custom. If an image is dark, blurry, or has excessive glare, it may get marked down as the actual custom will be difficult to see.

8.) Contest rules are subject to change if necessary.


PRIZE

Both the winner and the runner up will have their customs featured on the front page of the MCN and will be entered into the MCN Customs Database (at such a time when the database is fully up and running again, which may be after the next website update).
The winner of the contest (only one winner folks) will be given a $25 voucher to be used at any one MCN Approved Vendor (see below) of the winner's choice.

The winner will be contacted via Private Message with the details after the contest is finished, and must respond with their choice within 2 weeks. If the winner cannot or will not comply, the prize will be awarded to the runner up.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Allow me to announce the reason for our gathering today - our 'Birthday Cycle' continues with... Amanda! Today, on the 11th of April, our dear Sculpting Expert was born! We wish her lots of inspiration, tons of sculpey and, of course, a wide array of new Bricks as presents!!! Wishes of luck, happiness and success, as well as requests for autographed photographs go below. :D
